With the game tied at  'ones' at the half the Braves rallied in the second.  Brazilian international Eduardo Rossi and Sophomore sensation Kelvin Reisenfeld each adding goals in the rout.

The Braves improve to 2 and 1 in league play with their hopes of clinching a championship still very much alive.

Braves 2 Kings 2

The Braves hit the reset button after a disappointing loss to Princeton Wednesday and tied Kings 2-2 this morning.  Matt Wise headed in a 35 yard free kick from Chris Bowen in the first half to get the scoring started.   The Knights came back but sophomore Kelvin Reisenfeld broke the tie to give the Braves the 1 goal lead at half.

With temperatures on the field in the 90s in the second  it was a battle against the heat.  Unfortunately the Braves couldn't hold on and gave up the tying goal in the final minutes. The 2-2 result is nothing to hang our heads about as it was the best in 4 years.

Earlier in the morning the JV team maintained their undefeated record with a 1-0 victory;  Alex Pohlabel the lone goal scorer.   Credit the goalkeeping duo of Wyatt Hornsby and Dallas Josey with the shutout.

2014 Mason Pre-Season Classic

Once again Talawanda will be participating in the Mason Pre-Season Classic.  The 'Classic' is an affordable, yet competitive high school pre-season tournament that gives our players and coaches the special opportunity to prepare for the upcoming Fall season.   It promotes team building, launches the new season and is a great way to get to know new players.  More than 40 High School teams from around the State will take part including the host Mason Comets: defending DI State Champions.  Last year Talawanda did quite well overall finishing 3-1-1 against some quality competition.

Entry fees for the tournament are $25 per player.
Checks payable to 'Talawanda Athletic Boosters.'

All games will be played at the Heritage Oak Park in Mason. Please allow an hour plus for travel.

All players must also turn in a completed 'waiver' form to be eligible.

Bethel Signs Brown Bear

Congratulations to Justin Brown for signing with Bethel College in Indiana!

Our loss will will be the 'Pilots' gain as Justin led the league in goaltending last season with a 90% save average and 4 shutouts.  More than that Justin was a leader on and off the field academically and in Student Government.   Justin exemplified the team motto 'Victory Beyond the Game' and while he will be hard to replace, his example will continue to inspire our younger players.

Justin joins a list of Braves' Goal Keepers who have continued to play at the collegiate level including Ryan Marks (2010, Hanover)  and Chis Jackson (2007, Centre).
